The guys over at built for the future put the fifty-one entries for the ReUSEIT! Design Challenge on display. You can see my submission down around the middle there.
I didn’t put as much work into this as I should of, and I definitely don’t expect to win, or even come close. Nevertheless, I like the simplicity of my design and I’m relatively happy with it. I think I would have done a lot better if I had of made a liquid layout, and worked more on the XHTML, adding accesability features, etc.
Notable designs include bluey by Jamie Pittock, which has a good chance of winning. He did some stuff with that design that I’ve never really seen before on the web. For example, the use of quotes and Nielson face’s as a design element kicks ass. Although, I’m sure Jakob would find it to be a waste of space, and a usability hazard (don’t make them scroll).
I also like brown by Julee Pearson, airy useit.com [text] by George Sekera, and a couple others but I’m getting tired of doing this. Check them out!

There seems to be little excitment about the entries. Some saying that they are quite "uninspired". I have noticed though, that they're all people like me who didn't enter themselves...
Yeah, I read that too. I think the challenge to redesign a usability site doesn't draw the same croud as a challenge to design without any restraints, a la css Zen Garden.
